Requirements

• Paragon, the IT service provider for Hugendubel, a bookstore chain operating throughout Germany, was tasked with modernizing the WLAN infrastructure for Hugendubel.
• The standardization of the infrastructure was to ensure that all stores could be managed via a single platform in the future and that the same management and analysis features were accessed.
• The goal was to equip 80 branches with wireless networks for customers and employees and to replace stationary PC workstations with mobile workstations.
• Comprehensive tech refresh - replacement of WLAN access points and endpoints as well as part of the switches and firewalls.

• Test installation to assess the potential of the systems in real time
• Successful installation of the solution as a pilot project at the Ulm branch. This was followed by the connection of around 80 branches over a period of 2.5 months.

• The Cisco solution was compelling because the Meraki components can be centrally managed and monitored via the cloud-based management console. Guest access for Fi-lial customers can also be set up extremely easily and automatically.
• Testing has further optimized the infrastructure and ensured that sufficient volume is available for critical applications even during peak loads and that optimum network coverage is guaranteed.
• Operational data is available bundled at headquarters, enabling comprehensive reporting with real-time statistics and historical analysis.
• A long-term sustainable cloud-based solution has been implemented here, with which the Hugendubel stores will enjoy future security for years to come.
