Controlware GmbH was founded in 1980 by Helmut Wörner in a garage in Götzenhain. This laid the foundation for successful development with a focus on system integration. Helmut Wörner has always paid special attention to flexibility, inventiveness and, above all, customer orientation. Robert Bosch's principle has always been a guideline for him: "It is better to lose money than trust." (Robert Bosch 1861 - 1942)

This motto still contributes to Controlware's sustainable and long-term business relationships with customers and partners today.

Today, Controlware is one of the leading independent system integrators and managed service providers in Germany, developing, implementing and operating sophisticated IT solutions for its customers' data centre, enterprise and campus environments.

The portfolio ranges from consulting and planning to installation and maintenance to management, monitoring and operation of customer infrastructures through the company's own ISO 27001-certified Customer Service Centre. Controlware's central business areas are Network Solutions, Collaboration, Information Security, Application Delivery, Data Centre & Cloud and IT Management. Controlware works closely with leading national and international manufacturers and has the highest level of certification with most of these partners.

The company, which has around 800 employees, maintains a comprehensive sales and service network with 16 locations in DACH. In the area of promoting young talent, Controlware cooperates with renowned German universities and continuously supervises around 50 trainees and students.

Our Staff

Our committed, extremely well-trained staff are the key to our business success. Controlware’s highly qualified employees and certified technology experts are available to advise the client at every project phase – and they will work closely with the client to find a solution for any challenge. We are an attractive employer, as we invest in staff training and development on an ongoing basis and support equal opportunities principles. For some years, Controlware has been collaborating closely with six German institutions of higher education to encourage talented IT students via dual courses of study. We also train clerical and technical staff at all of our locations, and over 90 percent of our trainees are taken on full-time when their training contract ends. We promote staff health with a number of sport-based schemes including massage, yoga courses, and subsidised fitness centre memberships. Many of our staff have been with us for over 20 years. This positive working environment is reflected in very low staff turnover.
