Software-Defined-Campus
Following the introduction of software defined technologies to the data centre (SDN) and the wide area networks (SD-WAN), companies are now also becoming increasingly interested in campus infrastructures. Manufacturers have recognised this fact and now offer corresponding solutions. Two market-leading network providers launched an automation solution for campus networks almost simultaneously. Cisco Systems talks about “software-defined access” as a component of Digital Network Architecture (DNA), which was presented in the summer of 2017. In the case of Extreme Networks, their new offering, which includes substantial parts from the Avaya Networking acquisition, is called “Automated Campus”.
