Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF
The Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf is a state art and film university with the right to award doctorates in the Babelsberg district of Potsdam. Founded in 1954 as the German Academy of Cinematography and known as the Konrad Wolf University of Film and Television (HFF), it is one of the most modern and largest film schools in Germany and, since 2014, the only one with university status. In addition to acting, directing and dramaturgy as well as film and television production, it is also Germany's most important training centre for animation and animated film.

Modernisation of Voice over IP communication system
Requirements
- The existing telephone system had reached its limits in terms of capacity.
- The outdated DECT solution for connecting mobile terminals had to be replaced.
- Replacement of the Alcatel system with modern VoIP technology.
- Necessary expansion of the telephone system due to a new building on campus.
Services & Solutions
A modern unified communication system was set up using Cisco products. Components of the system solution were a Cisco Business Edition 6000M server incl. various additional functions, approx. 300 telephones with different functionalities as well as the integration of a DECT system for 30 mobile subscribers on the university campus.
Advantages & benefits
Thanks to the modernisation, the system now meets the requirements of contemporary telephony. Mobile communication on the university campus has been significantly improved for staff with changing workplaces. The modular concept of the new system can be adapted to future network changes or expansions.
