Proofpoint's portfolio includes products that stop both traditional cyberattacks (emails with malicious attachments and URL links) and socially targeted attacks - such as Business Email Comprises (BEC) and credential phishing.
Proofpoint uses a mix of sandbox analysis, reputation analysis and incorporates actual threat data into the analysis. For the email security domain, specific algorithms are used to assess the risk to each mail recipient and analyze attributes such as the sender-recipient relationship, header structure, header content, etc. to identify potential threats. Automated encryption, data loss, and forensics (triage) tools have been developed to most effectively support SOC teams during IT security incidents and minimize damage and costs. The portfolio also includes protection against social media account takeovers, detection of malicious mobile apps and detection of "faked" Wi-Fi networks.
