The new product of the Controlware IBS range IBS CiRUS100 delivers innovative and versatile protection for IP Virtual Private Network (VPN) infrastructures and services.

This configuration increases dramatically the level of resilience; indeed the conventional primary link access as well as the primary service provider, the CPE router and the backbone are secured by the IBS CiRUS100. Utilizing advanced Always-On technology, and according to the configuration, the IBS CiRUS100 delivers enhanced load balancing features that ensure flexible traffic distribution, rapid resilience, or a combination. Static and dynamic load balancing ts handled by service routers (supporting BGP) at the central site.

Static balancing consists of the distribution of certain traffic through the primary path and other traffic sent throughout the resilient link.

By monitoring all the IP sessions, the IBS CiRUS100 enables the capability to deliver dynamic load balancing. It can be compared to a selective backup acting on a specific protocol/application traffic flow.

During distribution of the traffic, IBS CiRUS100 analyzes the network performance & quality and decides to engage a backup process. The use of the resilient path supplied by an alternative NSP allows a total independence regarding the existing infrastructure supported by the Primary NSP.

By using transparent insertion techniques of the IBS CiRUS100, no reconfiguration of existing equipment or network topologies are required.
